"Turkey empahsizes the love, hope, and future of children by proclaiming a national holiday for them. This national day was dedicated by the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, to the children to emphasize that they were the future of the new nation." Ataturk loved children and had no children of his own.
