We opted for carriage for the first leg of the trip to the monestary that is at the top of the island. It was 20 lira one way but definitely worth it as I watched the walkers huffing and puffing their way up the hill. The views in some places were surreal. My camera wasn't quick enough...rather the horses were going too fast to capture the scenes between the trees and houses.
