It is not uncommon to see laundry hanging out of apartment windows. Many people don't have dryers.

Notice, however, that they don't have a dryer but they do have a sattelite dish. I'd take a dryer any day.

Speaking of dryers, JoAnne's dryer isn't vented to the outside. All the water from the clothes goes into a tube and you empty it after each load. There is no lint trap, just the water thing. It is amazing. What a great water saver. You can use the water to water plants, flush toilets, save for emergencies. It's a very GREEN invention. Why don't we have them in the US?
