This is the chapel. There were about 30 people at church. The meeting is conducted in English and translated into Turkish. It is really a challenge to keep your thoughts as you have to wait after every sentence so it can be translated. In classes, comments have to be translated as well. Scriptures are read in English and in Tukish. The Branch President was one of the ones that translated the Book of Mormon into Turkish. He said it took almost ten years and used all the technology that we have at our hands. It is a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith who translated the Book of Mormon in such a short time. JoAnne and Shane were the speakers. They did an excellent job talking about the atonement and the reserrection. The Sacrament was done with one prayer in English and one in Turkish. The prayers were in Turkish. It is a testimony that Heavenly Father loves all of us so much. He is concerned that we all have the blessings of the gospel in our lives.
The church building is in a very poor part of the city. The missionaries that serve there live just down the street from the church. They are Elder and Sister Pasket. They are from the same stake as Rod and Marcia.
