One of the ineresting things we visited today was the Basilica Cistern. This was also built by Justinian. The 336 columns are mare of marble. You access the cistern are accessed by 52 stone stairs. They think that some of the columns came from other places. It stores 100,000 tons of water. It went through a restoration in the late 1950's with cement reinforcing some of the pillars. It is really magnificient. It cost 10 lira each (about $7.00) for entrance.
